For all my myLot friends - I would like to share some advice that some of my friends on myLot told me about. I thought I'd share it with you, since it can really multiply your earnings on myLot. I have been informed that, when you post/reply to discussions, if you write at least six lines, you will be paid a higher amount for that, than if you were to just write one or two lines. If you can keep your sentences short, then six lines is not a lot ! So friends, try to keep this advice in mind for your future discussions and the money start to add up quicker than it was before.

Smelly experiance

It had just rained this morning. I simply love the rainy season as there are so many sights and smells to experience at any given moment. I usually pull up a chair and enjoy the scenery. The rainy season here bring forth so many different kinds of smell. There are some good while are others are bad. We have a big flower garden and whenever it rains, all types of flower smells are released for a short duration and it really helps me to relax and unwind. I especially like the smell of roses and marigolds. I really hate the smell of compost which somehow ends up make the whole house stink. In this situation, a little bit of perfume or cologne is great to freshen up the room. I did a bit of hunting around for it at a few perfume store and finally found the one I wanted. I guess smell is an important part of our daily life as it sets the mood and how we react with others. Read more...

How do you decide whom to vote for?

Its election time in many areas, so this question really got me all worked up. What if your uncle was running for the post of president or some other post? You have known him all your life and you seriously do doubt his ability to run the country. Even if the whole family is supporting him, would you vote for him? Well for me it does not matter if one of my relative has thrown his hat in the ring. He won’t get my automatic vote just because he is related to me, even if he is on good terms with me. A president’s job is just too important. After taking a long hard look at all the choices, I would vote for the most qualified candidate even if he was an independent. He should be able to think on his feet and offer good, sound judgements which everyone is willing to obey. If I have my doubts about a relative’s capabilities, then I will not for him. What I am implying is that one should not go by who is related to whom when making decisions which affects a lot of people. These decisions should be based on cold hard facts. The best man/woman should get the position. Read more...

          Dressing up that window

When one of my relative shifted into a new apartment and the first thing that I noticed when I visited his place was how bare, dull and boring it looked. The room looked so bleak, dreary and so drab. He really hated the look of the bare windows. Since he really didn’t did not know what to do to spice up the looks, he called me over for some advice. Even after filling it up with all types of furniture, it just didn’t seem quite right. We went through all the rooms with different furniture combinations and went through all types of ideas but nothing seemed to click.

We spent many days going to different places and looking at all the different setups to get some ideas. But we really didn’t find anything which would look nice at his place. Sure, we got a bunch of ideas, but nothing seemed to click. So one night while I was browsing though the net looking for something for the house, I noticed a particular site by where you can help with all of your interior window treatment needs... They had some really excellent quality and beautifully designed blinds, shades, enclosures shutters, and enclosures. These high quality items seemed to be affordable and are sure to fit his budget. All items seem to be of high quality and this company is giving a lifetime guarantee on their products as long as the original retail purchaser owns the product for defects in materials, workmanship or failure to operate. This is really great when you consider that most online web sites just do not provide the same service and a much shorter warranty period which is just too inadequate to know what type of product you have gotten and what types of hidden defects it might contain. What really attracted me to this site is that they are leading supplier of window products for over 60 years and have an unsurpassed reputation in their chosen field. He is sure to get not only an excellent product, but also a wide variety of products to choose from. Since there are no middle men, I know that we can get the best price possible.

I am really glad that I have found this site since the dull boring rooms now look like works of art if done properly. Let’s see what happens and hopefully he is able to choose the right stuff for his house and all the hard work that I have put in doesn’t go to waste. My worst nightmare at this time is that hopefully he doesn’t go color blind and chooses horrible glaring and conflicting colors or really inappropriate products even though the company does provide trained and qualified staff will help the customer select the products, colors, and options that best suit their needs. If he screws up this easy task, I’ll have to take him to the eye doctor. Lol. Hopefully, he’ll have the house fully ready by next week so that it will look good for the house warming party which he was planning to hold. Read more...

Rediscovering old friends and offering a mixed bag

It seems like sometimes we run across certain things which amaze or startle us or makes us laugh our head off. I ran across something which made me stop and go back and take a second look since I liked what I saw. It looks like some people from my older Yahoo360 contact page are still adding me to their new Yahoo360 profile as many people are still migrating to the new page. One of my contacts had this eye catching avatar. It was not a picture but a phrase which caught my attention which I would probably use in certain situations where no other words would have a similar impact. So, next time someone irritates/confounds you, just simply reply with "I don't know what your problem is but I bet it's hard to pronounce".
Otherwise, it's good to run into many of my online buddies which I thought had forgotten all about me or which had migrated to other sites and left the older sites. It seems like when the Yahoo360 was having its problems, alot of people who were using it to either keep in touch with others or to express their ideas/thoughts etc become soo dissatisfied with the irritating errors that kept popping on a regular basis. I had lost a few posts and the Flickr application didn't quiet mess correctly with the Yahoo360.
Multiply it seems like is more stable as the site administrators are on their toes and are quiet regular in fixing the bugs that pop up every so often. One irritating really thing which I noticed here is that I cannot do a copy/paste from inside the Compose Blog Entry until I publish it. Otherwise it's a stable site where I have only a few complaints with.
The weather has turned mighty pleasant this morning. The sky is overcast and a pleasant is blowing the window. It might actually rain in the next 24 hour period. I hope is does rain since we've been having a dry year. It's rather hot and humid for the last many days and a heavy rainfall will greatly reduce the humidity to some extent.
We've been having a rather dry monsoon period as we had deficient rainfall this year. Agriculture sector has been adversely and it seems the grain output might be well below the desired level. The already high food prices might rise even further and it seems like we end up spending most of our monthly earning on essential items. There is less and less amount to save for the uncertain future. For alot of people, financial planning has gone into tailspin and I guess we all have to work extra hard to shore up our savings once more.
Life is uncertain and we do get a mixed bag when we start of in our journey called life. Hopefully, next year will be a bit better than the current mess we are in. The financial planning schedule which I had so diligently adhered to for so many years will be back on track by next year. I guess I have to create a larger contingency fund in order to meet these emergency situations. All of us had a run in and no one was spared. I guess the ones which had some financial foresight were not as severely affected as others. What really matters in the end of the day is that we should not lose hope, have grit and determination to start fresh once more if the need arises. Read more...

                  Replying to an older post

Over the period of time I have more or less gone into a fixed routine when it comes to my net activities. There is hardly any variation unless the net is down for some reason. For some time now, my routine would be to check for the posts that my friends have posted on their sites. But if there is nothing I cannot that I can add to their posted discussion I will then check at a later stage for 'new’ discussions. There are also times when all the current discussions just don’t seem to strike a chord within me to reply to. Hence, I skip these posts for the time being. But lately, I have figured that 'new' post with similar thoughts or subject can be ignored once proven that it is very similar to discussions previously posted either by the same person or someone else. It may be unfair, but that's how I go about my work on many of my sites. I also skip some of the really dumb posts or questions. I usually skip any set of questions and posts that are full of incorrectly spelled words and contain really stupid syntax errors. If they cannot do a simple thing like write a normal coherent post with a proper paragraphing with little or no errors then the person needs to improve their skills before they start posting again. Why torment the public with poor writing skills? So, would you post/reply to discussions posted months ago? Do you care to see if the discussions you responding is a re-post? How do you usually respond to the posted discussion here in Multiply or any other site? Oh yes one more thing, Please respond to one of my discussions. Thank you. Read more...

                      Searching with a difference

You have been working hard all year long and you really need that much deserved break. It seems like you will never get that break. You try hard and convince the boss that you need some time off now. The big boss finally realizes that you really need a vacation which is long overdue. It seems like an easy task and you think you should get overwhelmed with choices as soon as you log in.
Where do you go? I would strongly suggest that you start off your journey at www.HotelsCombined.com which is the world's number 1 hotel search engine. This site offers not only search of all the best travel sites at once and find the cheapest price but also gives independent hotel reviews by other travelers.
These guys really seem dedicated to this industry and with a lot of hard work they have managed to build the world's no. 1 hotel search engine now they want more people to know about it. These guys have a really fantastic concept. They thought up the idea about donating to a charity every time someone helps spread the word about them! This way, HotelsCombined.com can then benefit from the word of mouth (or mouse in this case) whilst at the same time being able to donate what HotelsCombined.com normally would have had to spend on advertising. This Spread The Word For Charity has 3 options – the company will give $20 for a blog mention, $10 for a tweet and $5 for becoming their fan of Facebook page. So, what are you waiting for? Drop by their site. You might not only find the right hotel in the right location but also participate in some charitable work.Post?slot_id=43255&url=http%3a%2f%2fsocialspark Read more...

                          Easing the pain and suffering

I had posted the following post some time back and wanted to repost it since it is still relevant today as when I had posted it long back. People need solutions to ease the pain and suffering and not laws which tie their hands down and cause extreme hardships not only for the patients family for also for the patient. I hope people and the lawmakers out there realise that we need to modify the legal system so that people can exit this plane of existance with dignity.

I was talking to a friend of mine sometime back and it really got me thinking. She mentioned to me that when she recently visited a hospital, she had noticed that some people were hooked up to machines which kept them alive. They were completely dependent on the machine. It was because she had gone to visit a close family friend who was hooked up to the machine. She visited her daily, without fail. All the time she had either stood by her bed or sat next to her bed watching her waste away into someone she didn't know, her eyes would fill with tears and look at my friend in a way that said, "I know I won't be here much longer and I am in pain:...her begging eyes to help her was overwhelming sometimes. She could not walk, could not talk there at the end...just those "eyes" that told her what she wanted..to be set free from this prison that she was imprisoned in. I myself had an aunt who died of cancer and it was really awful seeing her waste away day after day and everyone knew that the end was near. Yet we could not do anything to lessen the pain she was in.

But our hands are bound by rules, regulations and laws and we have to watch helplessly as they suffer. Assisted suicide are illegal in some parts of the world. But I think it should be made legal, but under certain conditions. Like for terminally ill patients...who have no hope for survival, Cancer patients who are in their last leg, people involved in horrible accidents with no chance to live a normal life, and who are in horrible pain with no chance of survival, someone who is born with some genetic defect which makes their life hell and it gets worse and worse over a period of time, etc. This is a very sensitive issue which should be handle delicately. The family and patients should be given an option so that the pain, suffering and the negatives side effects are minimized. I hope the law makers out there are listening and change the laws just enough to help mitigate the patients/their families pain and suffering. It really saddens me to see patients and their families suffer untold agonies, and it won't change until like I said before, the laws are modified to lessen the suffering.
