For all my myLot friends - I would like to share some advice that some of my friends on myLot told me about. I thought I'd share it with you, since it can really multiply your earnings on myLot. I have been informed that, when you post/reply to discussions, if you write at least six lines, you will be paid a higher amount for that, than if you were to just write one or two lines. If you can keep your sentences short, then six lines is not a lot ! So friends, try to keep this advice in mind for your future discussions and the money start to add up quicker than it was before.

Adding samurai swords to ones collection

A sword is a bladed weapon of more than 50cm (20in) in overall length used primarily for cutting or thrusting. All have a blade and a handle, known as the hilt. Blades may be straight, curved, single-edged, double-edged or just pointed. Hilts vary considerably in style and length, and may include protective guards for the hand. Detailed design depends on the historical epoch or the geographical region under consideration. The use of a sword is known as swordsmanship or fencing. Basic principles have remained fairly constant through the centuries, but the actual techniques vary among cultures and periods as a result of the differences in blade design and purpose. The sword is said to be the emblem of military honor and should incite the bearer to a just and generous pursuit of honor and virtue. It is symbolic of liberty and strength. In the Middle Ages, the sword was often used as a symbol of the word of God.

One type of swords are samurai swords. In the strictest sense the term katana in Japanese is applied to any kind of single-edged sword, of any origin, and does not necessarily refer to a Japanese sword. "Katana" was originally used as a general term for a single-edged sword having a "Sori" or curvature of the blade. While the "Sugata" or form can take many shapes, including double edged that are 2 shaku (606 mm / 24 in) and longer. The katana evolved as a more sleek and compact alternative to the Tachi. The popularity of this type of samurai swords growth in popularity is believed to have been due to the changing nature of close-combat warfare. The quicker draw of the sword was well suited to combat where victory depended heavily on fast response times. The katana further facilitated this by being worn thrust through a belt-like sash (obi) with the bladed edge facing upwards. Ideally, samurai could draw the sword and strike down the enemy in a single motion. Previously, the curved Tachi had been worn with the edge of the blade facing down and suspended from a belt.

There are many sword collectors out there who are actively seeking a sword for sale which they can add to their collection. There are many online shops which cater to this crowd and offer excellent quality products. So go ahead and start your search for the perfect sword collection and it might lead to an online site which explains all types of uses it can be put to in an easy to understand manner.
